Birds harvested in the 2011 Wisconsin Waterfowl Season represented 23 species of waterfowl!
Full plumage drakes of 17 species of ducks were taken with a daily average of 7.5 birds in hand and 12.7 shooting opportunities per outing resulting in a total of 277 ducks and 8 geese!!!
Birds harvested in 2010 represented an astonishing 26 species of waterfowl!!! Birds species harvested in WI in 2010 included everything from canadian geese, wood ducks, black ducks, pintails, mallards, wigeon, gadwall, green and bluewing teal, shovelers, gadwall, hooded, common and red breasted mergansers, to white-wing and black scoters, old squaw, canvasbacks, redheads, greater and lesser scaup (bluebills), ring-necks, goldeneyes, bufflehead, ruddy ducks, andeven a harlequin duck (see photo on right)!
During the 2009 season, clients averaged 4.5 birds bagged and around 1.5 boxes of shells fired per gun, per day.
Birds bagged in the 2009 season represented 18 different species of waterfowl, ranging from teal, mallards, black ducks, wood ducks, gadwall, wigeon and geese to old squaw, bluebills, redheads, canvasbacks, bufflehead, ring-necks, hooded mergansers and goldeneyes.
During the 2008 season, 10 out of 11 consecutive two-man duck trips resulted in limits (12 ducks), several of which included a limit of geese (4 canadian geese) as well.
